Life Cycle Assessments of Two Prototypes of Bio-based Facade Modules

We conducted a life cycle assessment on prototype No. 1 of a factory-prefabricated wood-frame facade module filled with bio-based insulation.
We then proposed several modifications to reduce environmental impacts, which led to the development of Prototype No. 2. These modifications included reducing the thickness of the composite material, replacing the LVL wood studs with solid wood from Alsace, and replacing the wood fiber with a grass-based thermal insulator.
